TAU PI CHAPTER MENTORING INITIATIVE!

Base upon achievement test scores and other forms of academic evaluations, the men of Tau Pi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. recognized the distress that severely afflicted some young black male children. This situation, both academic and in some cases behavioral, was and is caused by circumstances beyond the control of the child.

As a result of the above and in concert with our Fraternity’s Cardinal Principals (Manhood, Scholarship, Uplift and Perseverance), Tau Pi Chapter initiated a mentoring program in 1994 at Guilford Elementary School. The goal of the program was and still is to achieve academic success, promote and elevate the self-esteem of our mentees through a meaningful association with successful adult black males as role models.

We are proud to share with you some of the times we have had engaging our mentees with positive activities.
